Ahava is an Israelian company that prides themselves in using Dead Sea minerals in all of their skin care products. Minerals of all kinds are carried by the waters of the Middle East and deposited at the bottom of the Dead Sea and are said to do wonders for your skin. Magnesium, potassium, and calcium are known as Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF). These minerals attract moisture and retain it. Translation – great ingredients to help our skin stay firm and hydrated.

Yesterday I got a sample of their Mineral Hand Cream. It’s a rich cream with tons of the NMF stuff. It left my hands smooth and soft with no greasy feel with a fresh, clean, spa scent. Luv it!

So, Ty Inc., famous for their Beenie Babies, have two new babies on the block. Their names…Sweet Sasha and Marvelous Malia. BUT, according spokeswoman Tania Lundeen, the dolls are not Obama dolls, they just happen to like these names and decided to make brown doll babies with pigtails.

Says Lundeen:

“There’s nothing on the dolls that refers to the Obama girls…It would not be fair to say they are exact replications of these girls. They are not.”

Why “Sasha” and “Malia”:


because they “are beautiful names, “not because of any resemblance to Malia and Sasha Obama…” Lundeen insisted.

Um yeah…OK!! If I wasn’t such a professional (wink, wink)…my first reaction to this would go a little sumthn’ like this: “(BLEEP) please!”

Beginning Tuesday, for one week only, Bloomies, Nordies and a slew of other high end stores are being forced to give away $175 million worth of beauty products nationwide. “Por que” you say? Because of a major lawsuit filed against the stores in California in 2003. Apparently, the stores held back inventory of high end products, uped their prices and conspired to never offer discounts. So damn shady. Product companies include Chanel, Christian Dior, Lancome and Clarins, just to name a few.

Shoppers only get one item per cosmetic company, while supplies last. Products are available to ANYONE who says they purchased department store cosmetics from at least one of the department stores between May 29, 1994 and July 16, 2003.
